The winners of the 1999 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award present their third album, "Major Third". Since their inception they have juggled University courses with gigging and have emerged as a highly accomplished, tight unit with wonderfully intricate arrangements, but without having lost sight of the drive and ‘soul’ of the music. Folk On Tap magazine said "[their] playing is excellent, the arrangements inventive, the choice of tunes interesting and the whole imbued with the drive and energy of youth.This new CD sees them more experienced both in terms of live performance and music, but without losing sight of the essential qualities which made them stand out from other groups of young musicians. The mix is as eclectic as before, taking its sources from Britain, Europe and beyond. Each CD has out-sold the previous one and this one should consolidate their position as one of the best on the UK scene.
