Details:
Presently based in Lisbon Portugal Waldemar Bastos was born and brought up in war-torn Angola. He calls this his latest release an "Afropean" album for the 21st Century. The project was conceived in San Pedro de Alcantara Spain where Waldemar brought together some of the most outstanding musicians of Africa from Congo and Angola from Mozambique and Guinea. Produced by Paul 'Groucho' Smykel (who has worked with David Bowie Sly & Robbie Jah Wobble and Black Uhuru among many) the album combines different beats with Turkish strings and Angolese swing in colourful patterns.
