Details: Peter Bellamy was a unique and highly influential figure on the British Folk scene. He came to prominence as a member of the trend-setting Young Tradition. He achieved his artistic peak with his ballad opera, The Transports. A charismatic, controversial and troubled character he committed suicide in 1991. In September 2004 he would have been 60 and this double CD, for the price of one, is released to coincide with that. It is made up of two original albums which were never widely available in the UK. "Peter Bellamy" was only issued in the USA and "Fair Annie" has only ever been available on cassette. A typical Peter Bellamy collection of, mainly, English traditional songs.
