Details: An exciting Italian concert (San Remo, March 23, 1963) by Blakey’s Jazz Messengers featuring Wayne Shorter & Freddie Hubbard - for the first time ever on DVD The rest of the band were : Curtis Fuller, trombone; Cedar Walton, piano; Reggie Workman, bass and of course, master drummer Art Blakey. The program includes four well-known standards plus a Wayne Shorter composition ("Children of the Night") and a Cedar Walton tune ("Mosaic"), both of which had first been recorded in the studio for the album "Mosaic" (1961) With the exception of Workman, the rest of the group had been playing together since mid-1961 (Jymie Merritt was the bassist until mid-1962). Shorter was soon to depart for his first collaborations with Miles Davis 6 tracks - Total Time: 53:15 min. - B&W / Mono.
