This remastered mid-price Definitive 2CD presents the complete Metronome & Vogue Master Takes by the legendary trumpeter Clifford Brown - featured in a variety of musical line-ups ranging from a quartets sextets And octets to sessions with Tadd Dameron's Big Ten in New York the Gigi Gryce Orchestra And a Stockholm session with Art Farmer & a Swedish All-Stars band. The recordings were all made in 1953 mostly in Paris with a wonderful list of participants : Quincy Jones Anthony Ortega Benny Golson Philly Joe Jones Jimmy Cleveland Henri Renaud Lars Gullin etc etc. These are exceptional recordings made by one of the truly great talents of 'modern' jazz - sadly destined to die in a car crash less than 3 years later at the age of only 25
