Solo & trio pieces from a private recording during a 1954 Norway tour by the highly regarded individualistic hard bop pianist who died a drug-related death in 1963. Mainly influenced by Bud Powell he played in early 50s with Rollins Charlie Mingus Dexter Gordon & Wardell Gray Art Farmer Serge Chaloff Oscar Pettiford Buddy de Franco Barney Kessel etc before becoming a Blue Note session regular later that decade.
