This release includes the complete 1957 album Blue Train, plus four bonus tracks showcasing Coltrane's genius on several sessions from the same period and with similar personnel. John Coltrane stated in a 1960 radiinterview that the album "Blue Train" was his favourite recording from his discography. Personnel : John Coltrane (tenor saxophone); Lee Morgan (trumpet); Curtis Fuller (trombone); Kenny Drew (piano); Paul Chambers (bass); Philly Joe Jones (drums). Recorded at Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, New Jersey on September 15, 1957. "John was taking music another direction.
