This essential mid-price Gambit CD presents John Coltrane's complete recordings under the leadership of Paul Chambers And also Features Donald Byrd Horace Silver Kenny Burrell Curtis Fuller Kenny Drew Pepper Adams And Philly Joe Jones. The 11 tracks were recorded in 1956 at 3 different sessions Hollywood Cambridge Mass. And New Jersey - And were made after Trane had recorded The New Miles Davis Quartet album (aka 'Miles') in Nov 55 And during his studio sessions with Miles for the 'Round About Midnight' Columbia album not released until 1957. Some discographies claim that Coltrane played on other tracks from the 3 Paul Chambers 1956 sessions bur recent closer investigation has revealed that Coltrane only plays on the tracks included here.
