This is the most complete edition released of these astounding sessions undertaken by Eric Dolphy between June And July 1963. A year later the innovative composer & multi-instrumentalist was dead. He chose several different approaches : an all-star nonet with Clifford Jordan Sonny Simmons Prince Lasha Bobby Hutcherson Richard Davis - bass; Eddie Kahn Woody Shaw & J. C. Moses; a quintet from the same pool; a series of duets with the incredible bassist Richard Davis; And an unaccompanied alto Sax solo. The music is astonishingly inventive.
