This mid-price Gambit double CD presents one of Eric Dolphy’s most inspired live recordings : the rare Complete Uppsala Concert. The legendary multi-reed instrumentalist performed live in Uppsala, Sweden on September 4, 1961 - backed by pianist Rony Johansson, bassist Kurt Lindgren and drummer Rune Carlsson. A night of unforgettable music. These superb nine tracks include a number of extended pieces of 10 minutes-plus including Dolphy’s longest recorded improvisation ever : a 13 minutes solo on his 20 minute composition 245 - his only composition on the album. The concert also features a fine alto-sax solo on David Raskin’s tasteful tune Laura . 20-bit remastered. Total Time: 92:13 min. In special slipcase sleeve.
