Alto Sax legend Lou Donaldson joins the great organist Big John Patton for their two last and many would say their best collaborations - on this Groove Hut release containing the complete original LP's Possum Head÷ (1964) And Signifyin'÷ (1963). On the former album they are joined by Bill Hardman (tp) Ray Crawford (g) Ben Dixon (d) & Cleopas 'Mopedido' Morris (congas); while on the latter it's Tommy Turrentine Jr (tp) Roy Montrell (g) & Ben Dixon (d). Total Time : 73 :39. - - Born in Badin North Carolina in 1926 Lou Donaldson is best known for the recordings he made for Blue Note from 1952 to 1963.
