Details: Alto Sax legend Lou Donaldson joins the great organist Big John Patton for their two last and many would say their best collaborations - on this Groove Hut release containing the complete original LP's Possum Head÷ (1964) And Signifyin'÷ (1963). On the former album they are joined by Bill Hardman (tp) Ray Crawford (g) Ben Dixon (d) & Cleopas 'Mopedido' Morris (congas); while on the latter it's Tommy Turrentine Jr (tp) Roy Montrell (g) & Ben Dixon (d). Total Time : 73 :39. - - Born in Badin North Carolina in 1926 Lou Donaldson is best known for the recordings he made for Blue Note from 1952 to 1963. He also worked briefly with Art Blakey Thelonious Monk Milt Jackson & Jimmy Smith. His style although BeBop in origin was decidedly blues And soul oriented - And
