Globus - the world’s biggest rock band, literally – introduces their debut album, ‘Epicon’, to American audiences. As the pioneers of the Epic Rock genre, the 180 piece Globus was formed by Los Angeles based Yoav Goren, best known for writing the epic trailer music for some of Hollywood’s biggest movies of all time, including Lord of The Rings, War of The Worlds, Spider Man 2 and 3 and Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End

Composer and producer Goren has created an emotional, powerful musical experience which takes the listener through some of the world’s musical heritages and languages, fuses it with contemporary rock, and cements it all with a massive orchestra and choir. The result is Globus; a colossal band creating a blend of epic and dramatic music with the accessibility of mainstream Rock and Pop

For lead singer Dann Pursey, being a part of Globus represents a dream come true. Since leaving school, UK native Pursey had been working as an engineer for the hugely successful producer, Steve Mac, delivering his skills on hits for bestselling artists, such as Il Divo, Westlife, Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis

However, Pursey, 25, only stumbled upon the Globus project by accident

“I was watching a trailer for the film The Aviator and was blown away by the music”, says Pursey. “I contacted the guy who wrote and produced it, Yoav Goren, to find out if I could rework the track and turn it into a song for my band. Thankfully he agreed...and he must have been pretty happy with the results because here I am!” Pursey sings and plays on 5 of the tracks on ‘Epicon’ and has also co-written one of the album’s tracks, ‘Orchard of Mines’. His description of the sound says it all: “The biggest sound to ever come out of two speakers”.
