Pierre Henry's Dracula was written in 2002 as part of a specially commissioned series of concerts under the title 'Living Spectacles' at the Pompidou Arts Centre in Paris. The composition in 8 sections is a marvellously atmospheric And appropriately brooding piece by one of the undisputed fathers of electronic music. Pierre Henry studied under Olivier Messi'n And Nadia Boulanger; collaborated with Pierre Sch'ffer to create Musique Concrete; worked with a variety of theatre & ballet projects; released the rock album Ceremony with the UK group Spooky Tooth in 1969; And produced a large body of recorded work. His influence on contemporary music was underlined by the reissue of his Metamorphose album in 2000 featuring remixes of the tracks by ColdcutFatboy Slim William Orbit DJadim Funci Porcini etc; followed by The Psche Rock Sessions in 2001 withmichel colombier And most of the above DJs
