Born 15th March 1912 Texas Blues man Sam (LightninƘ Hopkins was raised in Centreville Leon County halfway between Dallas and Houston on U.S. 75 basically a dusty old piney woods cotton community. The majority of his material is autobiographically linked to the texture of his life and its general progression and history from his early days as a cropper in the black loam cotton fields of Central Texas. This CD collects some of the finest folk songs from one of the most beloved blues masters.
