36 track double CD of classic tracks by the legendary Texas country bluesman whose career began in the 1920s when as a boy he played with Blind Lemon Jefferson And lasted right up until his death in 1982. In the 30's he worked with his older cousin Texas Alexander. Hopkins moved from acoustic to electric guitar but his down-home' style remained fundamentally unchanged. This compilation begins with his first recordings for Aladdin in 1946 with 'Thunder' Smith including his first hit "Katie M' Blues". Other hits included here followed : "Hello Central" "Coffee Blues" "Short-Haired Woman" etc. Taking us to 1952 And a session recorded in Houston with Don Crooks on bass And L.C. Williams tap dancing !
