This outstanding release contains complete versions of Quincy Jones' first & third LPs as a leader presented here together for the first time ever on one CD This Is How I Feel About Jazz÷ (1956) And Go West Man!÷ (1957). His previous recordings were mostly as a trumpeter arranger and/or conducto for other musicians' orchestras such as Lionel HamptonGeorge Wallington And Dizzy Gillespie. Although his reputation continued to grow after his recording debut in 1951 only a few selections previous to these albums had been issued under his own name. (his 2nd album as leader was of jazz arrangements of tunes from My Fair Lady÷).
