Details: A splendid album from John Kirkpatrick - England's finest accordion maestro drawing upon the rich repertoire of the Shropshire Border Morris Dance music. John helped form two teams in the early 1970's - The Shropshire Bedlams (Men) and Martha Roden's Tuppenny Dish (Women). "The Duck Race" celebrates the wonderful tunes the teams dance to. Much of the late twentieth century revival of interest in the Morris dates from the seminal "Morris On" recorded by John Ashley Hutchings Richard Thompson Barry Dransfield and Dave Mattocks thirty years ago. "The Duck Race" is an album for dancing as well as listening and will continue to bring the music to a wider audience. Almost 70 minutes of John's masterful playing = squeezebox heaven.
