Details: The great US troubadour-bluesman, Doug MacLeod, presents a new album of studio sessions - recorded in Utrecht, Holland - one of his favourite cities. His familiar mixture of country blues, folk songs, travellers tales, finger-style guitar, bottleneck and foot-stomping. Over the years Doug's song writing, singing, and playing have become more intense and personal. The new record is a perfect example of that continuing development. On many tracks it’s simply Doug singing and playing guitar, although he is joined on some numbers by Arthur Bont on percussion and Jasper Mortier on bass - but never both at once. This record was done in a very old school way : with Doug on a chair with a vocal mic, two mics for the guitars, a mic for his foot, and no head phones so he was free to move as he sang and played. Just like in a live performance.
