Another enterprising collaborationbetween TIMPANI And the Luxembourg Philharmonic this excellent CD contains allthe orchestral music of Alberic Magnard apart from his 4 symphonies. Magnard was apparently a serious-mindedindividual tragically killed in 1914 so much of the music on this disc - allfirst recordings - comes as something of a surprise being by turns grand sensuous light-hearted - And well worth discovering!
