Info: Clyde McPhatter was signed to Atlantic immediately after being fired from Billy Ward's Dominoesahis passionate high tenor became one of the distinctive voices of the nascent rock & roll era And certainly made an impression on Presley. Complete recordings with the Drifters including the hit Money Honey much covered since. The Drifters went on forever in various incarnations but McPhatter died at 40 when his heart gave out after years of booze.
