This CD contains the complete Bird at St. Nick's album plus all of theadditional material taped that same evening. As a bonus, there is a rareprivate recording by Bird, including Sarah Vaughan as guest vocalist on onetrack. Recorded live at St. Nicholas Arena, New York, on February 18, 1950 (bytenor saxophonist Don Lanphere & trombonist Jimmy Knepper) - this is oneof Parker’s most acclaimed live recordings, backed by an all-star band : RedRodney, (trumpet) Al Haig, (piano) Tommy Potter, (bass) Roy Haynes(drums). The bonus tracks feature Red Rodney (tp), Wardell Grey (ts), Walter BishopJr. (p), Teddy Kottick (b), Roy Haynes (d) and Sarah Vaughan (vcl) at theVeterans Administration Hospital, Philadelphia, June 1951.
