The earliest of these recordings from the mid-1930s capture Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli shortly after they formed the Quintet of the Hot Club of France. When Reinhardt released performances like "Dinah" and "Oh Lady, Be Good", musicians and fans alike were astounded by this virtuoso French gypsy's mastery of jazz, an idiom he had absorbed by listening to records. Featruring: Stephane Grappelli, Joseph Reinhardt, Roger Chaput, Pierre Ferret, Alphonse Cox, Pierre Allier, Arthur Briggs, Eugene D'Hellemmes, Alix Combelle, Louis Vola.
