The sad story of Hank Snow's early life is briefly told in the companion CD to this, “Blues For My Blues Eyes”, on JASMINE JASMCD 3522. Rising above his miserable circumstances, he had established himself as a Country singer at home in Canada, but then had to struggle even harder to make his name south of the border, in the great U.S.A. where talented singer/guitarists abounded. For years he must have wondered whether he would ever reach his own 'rainbow's end', until perseverance and a little luck finally put him on the road, at the start of the 1950s, to be one of the all-time giants of Country. It comes as no surprise that Hank Snow called his home spread a few miles north of Nashville the Rainbow Ranch.
