Billy Taylor (p)Ed Thigpen (d) AndEarl May (b) all achieved remarkable longevity in their careers recording for another forty years after these 1957 sessions. The three played together as a trio 1956-58 And were one of the most consistently excellent And underrated piano/drums/bass outfits of the timea. Thigpen was shortly to join Oscar Peterson in what was to become one of the most revered piano trios ever. This CD comprises twelve of the total eighteen tracks which the three recorded together in the trio format.
